EXPERIENCE SHABBAT

Challah

Shabbat Blessings

Shabbat_Red.png

Mark the beginning of Shabbat by blessing the candles, wine (grape juice works too!), and challah (any bread will do!). Need a little help with the blessings? We've got you covered!

Candles

Bah-ruch ah-tah Adonai Eh-lo-hei-nu meh-lech hah-o-lam, asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav, v'tzivanu l'hadlik ner shel Shabbat.

Blessed are you, Creator of the universe, who has given us laws and ethical teachings to help guide and enrich our lives. In this spirit, we light the Sabbath candles.

Wine

Bah-ruch ah-tah Adonai Eh-lo-hei-nu meh-lech hah-o-lam, borei p’ri hagafen.

Blessed are You, eternal God, who created the fruit of the vine.

Challah

Bah-ruch ah-tah Adonai Eh-lo-hei-nu meh-lech hah-o-lam, haMotzi lechem min haaretz.

Blessed are You, Creator of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.
